BRONSON SHONK

ARTIST STATEMENT

Bronson Shonk makes intricate paintings using an x-acto knife in an inventive take on the sgraffito technique. In his paintings you can make out myriad organic forms. Like a long exposure photograph of a ballerina, the forms depict traces of movement rather than still frames of a moment. His paintings are visual representations of growth — a study of the cyclic nature of change.
